“Does Certo help to pass drug test?” This is a popular question that I keep getting from my readers. So I’ve decided to address the question here for you all. Certo is really nothing more than a liquid form of pectin. Pectin, and Certo by definition, is a naturally occurring starch found in fruits and vegetables, composed primarily of fibers. Fibers, as we all know, are great for the digestive system and help treat constipation.
I did some research on whether or not Certo can be used to help you pass your urine drug test and here’s what I found.
Certo, Its Health Benefits, and Uses
The health benefits of Certo are similar to those of pectin. After all, as stated above, Certo is just pectin in a liquid form.
1.When taken by mouth, Certo can help lower your blood cholesterol level by keeping the cholesterol in your gut from being absorbed by the body. By keeping the cholesterol in your gut, it is eventually formed into stool and evacuated (i.e. pooped out). So by taking Certo your blood cholesterol level will drop.
2. Specifically, Certo helps lower LDL levels in the body. LDL is the bad cholesterol, which is responsible for atherosclerosis and many other adverse conditions. On the other hand, it hasn’t been shown to adversely affect the levels of the ‘good’ cholesterol, HDL, in the body.
3. Certo is reputed to help in the treatment of diabetes by lowering the blood glucose levels and the recurrence of stomach ulcers. However, this also hasn’t been scientifically proven yet. Thus, if you’re ignoring your meds and relying on Certo (or pectin) for treating these conditions, then you might want to reconsider going back on your meds.
4.Recent research indicates that Certo might be somewhat useful in the treatment of mercury poisoning. Certo can also be used to control niacin flushing, the sometimes bothersome side effect of taking niacin pills.
Niacin is a vitamin that needs to be supplemented in cases of deficiency. If you’re deficient in niacin, your doctor might prescribe niacin pills for you. The flushing can be avoided by taking aspirin.
If aspirin isn’t available, you can use Certo (or pectin). Certo (or pectin) definitely won’t be as effective as aspirin and won’t stop the flushing from happening, but it’ll lessen its effects. So Certo may not be the best treatment possible for niacin flushing, but it’s still better than nothing.
Does Certo Have Cleansing Properties?
No. Certo doesn’t really have cleansing properties. Perhaps if you rely on the fact that Certo contains fibers which absorb toxins in the gut to be evacuated in your stool, then yes Certo has some cleansing properties. Other than that, you can’t expect Certo to magically draw toxins out of your bloodstream to help cleanse your body.
Can Certo Help You Detox?
Certo can help you detox only to a minimal degree. If you just ingested a substance that you want to eliminate rather than absorb, then Certo can be a decent option.
This mostly applies to fats and fat soluble items since these are the kinds of things that Certo, pectin and high fibers, absorb in our intestines. Water soluble items in your gut might also be excreted very minimally.
Detox, in the true sense that it gets toxins completely out of your blood, isn’t a very realistic thing to expect. Fibers don’t work that way or else people would be using fibers to detox all the time. Fibers are present in lots of foods, not only in pectin and Certo.

Certo is proposed to work by secreting THC into bile to be released into your stool. When using Certo you will also be drinking lots of fluids so indirectly your urine is going to be diluted.
Certo Method Instructions:
Using Certo for a urine drug test is pretty easy.
- You buy a packet of Certo and a bottle of Gatorade.
- Then you empty the packet of Certo into the bottle of Gatorade and drink it all.
- After that you’ll need to drink about a gallon of water then urinate several times before taking your urine drug test.
The effects of Certo in helping you pass your drug test should last between 3 and 5 hours from the time when you first use it as described above.
It’s advised that you do this twice, the day before your drug test as well as the day of your test. Keep in mind that you might need to go to the bathroom several times after taking Certo, both to urinate and to poop since Certo is also somewhat of a laxative due to its high fiber content.

Update 2021!! Several years ago Certo method used to be a very popular approach to passing urine drug tests. Through the years I have heard as many successful as sad stories about using Certo.
In my opinion, if you are a light user and haven’t smoked for the past 1-2 days, the use of Certo might be helpful in dropping your THC levels below cutoff levels. But if you a moderate to heavy user, the Certo method is highly unreliable and probably won’t work.
Besides, labs have become even more advanced in detecting and measuring all necessary markers in your urine sample. It is definitely getting tougher to outsmart the labs.
So far, I have seen that the best outcome users of marijuana have had in passing their urine drug tests come from
(a) either abstaining from using marijuana from 10 up to 90 days before their test depending on their THC exposure or (b) completing a whole body detox program combined with light aerobic exercise, visiting a sauna, eating healthy and drinking plenty of water.
In a case of a random drug test, there are a few popular detox drinks that can be effective enough to drop your THC levels below cutoff levels. Even though such drinks cannot guarantee 100% your passing the test, they at least help to increase your chances of passing to the highest degree possible.
Such detox drinks will help to reestablish normal levels of background nutrient in your urine sample.
