Where Can I Get a Medical Marijuana Card ?

“Where can I get a medical marijuana card?” That was my first question when I was prescribed medical marijuana to relieve chronic pains.

I found out there were two basic options to getting a medical marijuana card: online and offline.

As I have a very busy working schedule, I truly hoped to be able to use the online service. Unfortunately, I found out that online services were not available in my state. So, I had to use the offline method of getting a medical marijuana card.

Where Can I Get a Medical Marijuana Card Online?

1.Bottom line is that if you want to get a medical marijuana card, you’re going to have to do it “offline” unless you’re lucky enough to live in either California or New York.

These are the only two states where online services are currently available. If you live in California or New York, then you should definitely take advantage of the local legislation.

In any case, here’s a list of the 30 states where medical marijuana is legal:

1. Alaska11. Illinois21. New Jersey
2. Arizona12. Louisiana22. New Mexico
3. Arkansas13. Maine23. New York
4. California14. Maryland24. Ohio
5. Colorado15. Massachusetts25. Oregon
6. Connecticut16. Michigan26. Pennsylvania
7. Delaware17. Minnesota27. Rhode Island
8. District of Columbia18. Montana28. Vermont
9. Florida19. Nevada29. Washington
10. Hawaii20. New Hampshire30. West Virginia

Now let’s take a look at some of the online services that are currently available in California and New York.

NuggMD.

2. NuggMD has been around since 2008. It is one of the most reliable and simplest services to use online. You simply sign up on their website and schedule a consultation with one of their doctors.

This service can often be used on the same day. It’ll take about 15 minutes to apply. If you’re approved, you’ll receive an online copy of the medical recommendation straight away. Written confirmation will follow within 1 to 3 days.

It only costs 39$ for a new patient and 39$ for each renewal. It costs an additional 10$ if you would like your card to be delivered to your home.

GetHeally.

3.GetHeally is known for their fast process and great customer service. Once you sign up, a customer service chat box will appear. A customer service representative will guide you through anything you need.

The total cost is 50$, which includes the plastic card.

4.If you want to obtain a medical marijuana card online in New York, then your options are NuggMD or GetHeally. Yes, it’s an extension of the original NuggMD based in California.

It’s a similar process to that of California. However, it’ll cost you about 150$ in New York at NuggMD or 200$ at GetHeally. You’ll only get charged if your medical marijuana card is approved.

5.No other state has online processing.

You’ll have to use the offline process and do the following:

• First of all, you must provide proof that you live in the state. Medical marijuana cards are state specific and only apply to the individual’s state of residence.
• Next, a doctor’s visit is required. You need a licensed physician to confirm that your health condition requires the use of medical marijuana.
• Submit proof of the above to your state.
• Pay the application and card fees.
• Check out dispensaries near you; or, even grow your own medical marijuana.
