As most of you probably already know, Red Lobster is a large casual dining restaurant chain that serves seafood and lobsters. The company was founded over 50 years ago in Florida and still has its corporate headquarters the state. There are over 700 Red Lobster locations across the world. Besides the United States, there are restaurants in Europe, the Middle East, Japan, Brazil, as well as many other foreign countries.
There are many jobs you can apply for at Red Lobster. If you have the experience, you can apply for a job as a cook. Alternatively, you can work as a host/hostess, a dishwasher, or server in one of their restaurants. Those with advanced qualifications can apply for one of many types of jobs at corporate HQ in Orlando. These include positions in accounting, human resources, and/or marketing.
Red Lobster Drug Test Policy in 2023
Red Lobster has a strict no drug policy. It will never tolerate employees using drugs while on the job. An employee high on drugs can put the company’s reputation at risk and lead to disgruntled customers who may write terrible reviews about the restaurant. This is good news because most people are applying for low entry level jobs rather than a managerial one. It is tougher for those who want to work as managers, but their compensation is usually higher. So that should make up for the added hassle.
Does Red Lobster Do Random and/or Pre-Promotional Drug Tests?
Another one of the questions I frequently get asked is if Red Lobster carries out random drug tests and tests before promoting someone to manager. The answer is ‘yes’ to both questions. Red Lobster can legally ask you for a drug test at any time during your employment’. But they don’t do this indiscriminately.
You’ll only be asked to take a random drug test if you’re involved in a work accident. The best way to avoid this is to never go to work under the influence of drugs and always be careful around the workplace.
If you’re up for a promotion, then you’re going to be drug tested too. They test people who are about to become manager whether they’re an outside hire or if they’re getting promoted from within. If you’re up for a promotion to manager then you wouldn’t want to mess that opportunity up by failing a drug test.
What Kind of Drug Test Does Red Lobster Use?
Red Lobster uses a urine drug test to test those applying for a managerial position, getting promoted, and those who are involved in work accidents. You’ll need to urinate in a sample cup, which will be sent to a lab for analysis. The lab will send the results back to Red Lobster for whatever action they deem appropriate.
Can You Fail a Drug Test for Using Only Prescription Drugs?
No, you can’t fail a drug test at Red Lobster for simply using prescription drugs. You only just need to tell them that you’re on a prescription for a drug that might show up positive on a test. You can also provide the manager with your doctor’s name and contact info so they can confirm this with her or him.
You shouldn’t tell them what you’re taking or why you’re taking it. That information is confidential and should stay between you and your doctor.
How to Pass Drug Test at Red Lobster?
Passing a urine drug test at Red Lobster will be much easier if you know in advance several facts and carefully follow my recommendations.
The facts are:
- If you use marijuana lightly (i.e. no more than once a week) you can still test positive for THC up to 4-6 days since last use.
- If you are a moderate user- for up to 10-12 days.
- If you are a heavy use (3-4 times a week or everyday) – for up to 35-90 days.
If you are a light or moderate user and don’t have enough time detoxing your body from THC properly, on the drug test day you might consider drinking a detox drink like Mega Clean or Herbal Clean QCarbo20.
If you are a heavy user, I would recommend using such drinks only after (a) you have abstained from marijuana for a prolong period of time (min 55-70 days) and (b) still test positive for THC on a home urine drug test.
I have seen that many heavy users significantly increase their chances of passing their urine test after completing a 10 day Toxin Rid whole body detox program, combined with light aerobic exercise, visiting a sauna, drinking plenty of water and maintaining a healthy diet.
